DEVELOP THE PLAYER
GROW THE PERSON

Wide Receiver University (WRU) connects football development with mentorship, mindset and preparation.

A place to learn, a community to grow

WRU exists to help young athletes discover what they can do—with coaches who believe in them and a community that supports their progress. We bring purposeful skill development and the joy of playing together, welcoming beginners alongside athletes ready for their next challenge.

Our goal reaches beyond football: to build confidence, encourage commitment and help players become dependable teammates. Through local programs, experienced coaching and meaningful mentorship, we give athletes room to learn, make mistakes, improve and belong.

From Vancouver to the pros

Rashaun Simonise · Founder & Head Coach

Rashaun’s journey took him from Vancouver to the University of Calgary, the Cincinnati Bengals and the Canadian Football League. WRU brings the attention to detail and standards learned along that journey to young athletes.

His coaching connects the fundamentals—movement, catching, routes and decision-making—with preparation, communication and confidence. The aim is steady progress that players can recognize and build on.

MORE THAN FOOTBALL

A better route or stronger catch is only part of the goal. WRU athletes learn to prepare, respond to coaching, support teammates and handle challenges—habits they can carry into sport and life.

Winter flag brings that approach to NFL FLAG Canada. Purposeful instruction, encouragement and meaningful play create room for every athlete to improve while enjoying the game.
